Interview with Crom - Part 1

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

The WarCry Network has a rather odd ficticious (I’m fairly certain on this) account of trying to get an interview with Crom.  Yes… Crom.  Like Crom from Conan.  (Freaking Conan!!!)

SFFAudio Review: Conan the Barbarian

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Conan the BarbarianSFFAudio has a good review of Coman the Barbarian up on their site.  Its a fairly interesting read with a bit of insight into the movie and Conan’s origins and history coming to the big screen.

Some of you may be wondering why does Joe keep posting about Conan on a primarily Lovecraft and Mythos related site?  Don’t worry… There actually is a tie-in here.  Robert E. Howard, author of the Conan stories, was not only a contemporary to HPL, but he was a fan as well.  Howard had even gone as far as to incorporate some Mythos into the Conan stories, but alas, old HPL never returned the favor.

Now go check out Akim Bischoff’s review of Conan the Barbarian over at SFFAudio.com!

Lovecraft and Conan

Friday, December 15th, 2006

Conan and the Midnight GodNo, not Conan the “commedian”.  We’re talking the Barbarian here.

Did you know that the creator of the Conan stories, Robert E. Howard, and H.P. Lovecraft were friends in the 1930’s?  I didn’t, but now we know!

Howard, who wrote the original Conan tales in the 1930s, was friends with legendary horror author H.P. Lovecraft, and even penned several stories set in the Lovecraft universe.   Lovecraft never returned the favor, however,

Comic artist Josh Dysart will be taking care of Lovecraft’s side of things with his own Lovecraft influenced
Conan comics through Dark Horse Comics.  Read more about Dysan’s Lovecraftian barbarian comic over at ComicBookResources.com.
