Ligotti on Lovecraft

Friday, December 21st, 2007

…Lovecraft’s vision of human beings [is] as bits of inconsequential organic material quivering in a black infinity that occasionally throws some phenomenon our way that is completely alien to the settled structures of our existence, as if to say: “You can just forget everything you thought you knew about yourselves and everything else in the universe. You know nothing. You are nothing. And the choices you have for dealing with this reality are to go insane or kill yourselves.

Monday Madness!

Monday, November 5th, 2007

OK, so I’m a bit tired from having my Army Reserve weekend, and a little over a week of sub-six hour nights of sleep, so instead of some lengthy piece of prose comparing and contrasting HPL’s vision of contemporary society with the piece of green fuzzy cheese in my fridge, I shall instead post a few links of note! :P

  • First, we have Grim Reviews and a nice article on a science project in the Mediterranean Sea and its ties with “From Beyond”.
  • Next, we have a Cthulhu Statue by Meat Spider over at The Creep Machine.
  • For some steam punk action, we’ve got Datamancer’s excellent second steam punk laptop!
  • And finally, a short bio of ol’ HPL at HellNotes.

And don’t forget! After Dark’s Horrorfest: 8 Films to Die For is this and next weekend!

Blog like its the end of the world!

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Apparently, while worrying about my old server and the possible loss of all my email and web pages, I missed out on “Blog like its the end of the world” day. :(  Too bad.   I’ll have to mark it in my calendar for next year.

The idea is that your posting for that day is written as if a zombie uprising were taking place - around the world, and in your home town.

Check it out!

Check out some zombies:

Haha… Undead-Americans…
