Artists inspired by Lovecraft

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Enter the Octopus has posted up a mini review and some photos of a large and awesome looking collection of art entitled “A Lovecraft Retrospective: Artists Inspired by H. P. Lovecraft” from Centipede Press.  I especially love the artwork on the cover jacket, which coincidently is the same artwork on the editions of the HPL compilations I grew up with!  Included in the book are some previously unpublished works, several major essays, and an intro by Harlan Ellison.  Now if only I had the spare cash to add this to my growing collection of coffee table art books.

I will follow you into the dark

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I’ve always known that Death Cab for Cutie’s “I will follow you into the dark” was a sad song, but holy crap this video is weepy sad! :(  Its the bunnies that do it to me, interspersed with the occasional image of the girl.

Lego Harpsichord

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

I’ve always liked the sound and look of the Harpsichord. I’ve always liked Legos. Now the two have been successfully merged into a working Harpsichord made from Legos! About 100,000 pieces went into this thing!

Ooops!  I forgot mention (Thanks John!), you can hear it in action at the HenryLim site linked above!
